The Hideout was never meant to be just another salon. It was meant to be somewhere you actually want to sit for three hours.

For decades the standard salon experience has been a beige room, a stack of magazines, and a stylist who nods at whatever you say and then does what they were going to do anyway.

Hair is not decoration. It is the first decision you make about yourself every single morning, and the last thing you check before you walk out the door.

Meanwhile plenty of people learned to keep their heads down in salons. Wrong pronouns. Wrong assumptions. A texture nobody trained for.

We rejected that.

The Hideout was built differently. A funky, eclectic room in the heart of East Nashville where the chair is yours for as long as it takes.

But good hair alone was never the whole point.

So the room does more than hair. Live music. Community classes. Art shows hung on the walls.

Heather started her career in the beauty industry in 2009 at the Paul Mitchell School in Nashville. After doing hair for years, she transitioned into focusing on skin and lashes, which she loves - especially facials, lash lifts, and brow laminations! She continues her passion for hair and makeup in her role as the wedding/event specialist, helping people look and feel their best on their special days.

In her free time, she enjoys DIY and craft projects, watching documentaries and competitive reality shows, and making memories with her husband, four boys, and two cats, in East Nashville.

She has been a stylist since 2005, originally from gloomy Seattle where she first fell in love with mermaid-colored hair under grey skies. In her free time she goes on adventures with her family, and bakes mediocre cakes.
